Nostalgia favorites
Phil Dirt and the Dozers
It wouldn't be a Summer Arts Festival
without Springfield's favorite Kings of Nostalgia, Phil Dirt and the
Dozers! Lace up your saddle shoes, hang the fuzzy dice from the
rear-view mirror, grab a lawn chair, and settle in as you relive the most
exciting time of Rock'n'Roll history! Phil Dirt reminds us that you're never
too old, that life is short but good, and yesterday is as close as your
favorite memories.

Aja - The Steely Dan Tribute
You got to shake it baby! AJA recreates the sounds of one of rock's
most legendary and enigmatic bands with stunning precision and energy. The
Park will be rockin' to all the Dan classics from "Reelin' in the Years" to
"Hey Nineteen" and beyond. Aja's 10-piece ensemble features some of
the Cincinnati area’s finest jazz, rock and session musicians. No static at
all! "...wonderful, fantastic....I have played with many of the Steely
Dan tribute bands and Aja is certainly the finest. I think they play as well
or better than the Steely Dan touring groups I have seen and heard… the
groove, chops, feel and an obvious love for this music… a must see band and
you can quote me on that...."

Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers
Joe Mullins and The Radio
Ramblers, a collaboration of veteran Bluegrass musicians who have worked
with one another during former musical endeavors, formed in 2006 for the
primary purpose of performing at Classic Country Radio promotions. Their
camaraderie and passion for Bluegrass music has had a profound impact on
their stage presence and ultimate demand, and The Radio Ramblers have
become a welcomed addition to the southwest Ohio Bluegrass music scene.

Cherryholmes
Cherryholmes
has many qualities that make them unique, but the basis of their success
lies in plain, old-fashioned hard work combined with shining star talent
that only appears to glow more brightly with each performance. Cherryholmes’
six band members pull their creative ideas to form their own new brand of
bluegrass music. Band leader Jere sums it up this way: “People say that
bluegrass music has to change or evolve or it will die. Well, if you change
something from one thing to another it isn't alive anyway. I don't really
think it needs to be changed. It just needs new life breathed into it. I
feel like maybe I'm offering that with my family.”

groove, especially in a live setting is hard to resist." -Charleston

8:00 PM - Carlos Jones and the
PLUS Band
The “iron-man” of the
reggae scene in Cleveland, Ohio is without question, Carlos Jones.
Carlos’ journey is a history of Cleveland reggae itself. The band’s soulful
rhythms and heartfelt message have made it one of Cleveland’s top draws for
more than a decade. 2008 will see Carlos celebrating a musical career
spanning 30 years, as well his 50th birthday. When asked about his plans for
the future, he’ll simply tell you, “The future is right now. I just want to
keep on playing this music from my heart for as long as I’m able to, and
keep the positive vibration alive for all those who can dig it, ya know? As
long as I’m able to continue to do what I love, what more could you want out
of life?"
