The Kells
play primarily what is called Traditional Irish Music. With a genuine
passion and a sincere sense of purpose, the Kells pour their hearts into
playing lively jigs, spirited reels and haunting airs with songs that reach
deep into the moral and emotional part of man’s nature. Instruments such as
the Irish uillean (pronounced “il-yun”) pipes, tin (pronounced “tin”)
whistle and flute provide the brilliant melodies, while the guitar and
traditional Irish drum called a bodhran (pronounced “bow-rawn”) provide
intricate layering, heart-beat and drive. Together, it produces the inspired
and mighty sound called “Hardcore Irish Trad.” It is music for all ages –
and for the ages.

The David Munnelly Band
Started by
Irish button accordion player David Munnelly, who's toured and recorded with
The Chieftains and with DeDanann, The David Munnelly Band is one of
the hottest bands on the traditional Celtic music scene. With members from
Mayo, Dublin,Donegal, and Tyrone, the exciting sextet combines button
accordion, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, bodhrán and flute for a
high-spirited instrumental sound colored with a bit of jazz and ragtime,
topped with the singing of All-Ireland champion Shauna Mullin and the
extraordinary percussive dancing of American Nic Gareiss. "The Irish band
to see" (Irish Voice) won special acclaim for incorporating the sound
and feel of the Irish-American dance halls of the 1920s and 1930s and such
bands from that era as the Flanagan Brothers with its traditional Mayo
roots.
