An Evening of Rising Stars:
Levi Massie, Wyatt McCubbin,
and Noah Wotherspoon

In the past years, Levi Massie has played shows at 3rd and Lindsley, The French
Quarter Cafe, The Bluebird Café, and most notably, at the historic Bitter End in Greenwich Village as part of the New York Singer/Songwriter Sessions hosted by session musician Larry Oakes. In Spring 2007, with the help of Peter Young, Massie released his first EP, a set of his representative ballads with sparse acoustic accompaniment. When asked about his confidence in his music, this Ohio native replies, “I know this is what I was meant to do.”

Wyatt McCubbin is an up-and-coming country music singer and songwriter with a deep and mature voice that doesn’t quite seem to match his 16 years of age. Drawing from traditional roots, Wyatt seeks to follow in the footsteps of famed traditionalists like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Hank Williams, Sr. With an upcoming collaborative tribute album to Waylon Jennings, and a partnership with Witt Stewart of Scatter Records, Wyatt is certainly on the right path.

Noah Wotherspoon hails from Dayton, Ohio. At the age of eleven, his brother bought him a guitar. Noah immediately took to the instrument and quickly became noticed as a remarkable blues guitarist. Wotherspoon has developed into a prolific songwriter, interweaving diverse influences into a unique and truly original style rooted in the ongoing tradition of the blues while exploring new artistic territories. He has shared the stage and studio with the likes of Delmar Brown, Will Lee, Hiram Bullock, Jon Mover, Michael Hill, Cedric Burnside, and John Hammond. XM/SIRIUS Satellite Radio has recently been spinning Noah on "B.B. King's Bluesville". His inspired live performances continue to move & resonate with audiences wherever he plays.

Griffin House
with special guest Nate McDonough

Griffin House began writing and recording and issued his first independent release, Upland, in 2003. His music attracted attention from Nettwerk, a Vancouver-based management company and record label, and House partnered with the label’s American branch to issue Lost & Found in 2004. Several self-released albums followed; in 2008 he released Flying Upside Down, and recently House has released The Learner. House has toured extensively, opening for artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Patti Scialfa, Josh Ritter, John Mellencamp, and Mat Kearney. House headlines nationally, and is a Summer Arts Festival favorite!

Special Guest Nate McDonough is a native of Springfield, Ohio. At age 13, Nate picked up a guitar, and was headlining his own shows by the age of 15. Nate started writing and recording his own original material, which eventually led to his solo album release, “New Day.” Critical acclaim compared Nate’s working-class, everyman-style lyrics to a ‘southern Bruce Springsteen.’ In 2010 Nate was chosen by Clear Channel Radio as an up and coming artist to watch!

Cathie Ryan
Cathie Ryan is an original. Since beginning her career with Cherish the Ladies in 1987, Cathie has pioneered the path for exploring and performing the traditional songs of both Ireland and America. Her songwriting is born of and influenced by the folk songs she learned as a child growing up in Detroit to Irish parents. Cathie blends her own songs with Irish and American traditional gems to create a distinct and timeless sound. She is a critically acclaimed interpreter of song, a respected songwriter, and she has a gift for unearthing and giving new life to beautiful, but overlooked Irish and American folk songs. Add her ability to engage and enchant an audience, and you’ll see why she is one of the most esteemed and emulated singers in Celtic music today!
