Our community is rich with tradition.
This tradition continues to be strengthened through the dedicated
work of the Springfield Arts Council and our high-quality performing
arts programs. These programs are offered to our community year
round through the following three projects:
-
For the past 43 years, our
community has enjoyed hundreds of admission-free
music and theater performances in Veteran’s Park Amphitheater,
thanks to the annual Summer Arts Festival.
-
For 31 years, national touring
attractions have performed in Springfield, first at Memorial
Hall, now at Clark State Performing Arts Center, thanks to the
Broadway & Beyond Series.
- During the
last 33 years, students in public, private and parochial schools
throughout Clark County have enjoyed arts education programs
that enhance curricular learning and help develop an
appreciation for the arts, thanks to Arts in the
Classroom.
This year, the
Springfield Arts Council has projected a budget of $998,000 to help
enrich the quality of life in our community through these three
projects. Donations from individuals, businesses and organizations
play a significant role in supporting the budget for these programs,
enabling the Council to continue to strengthen these community
traditions.
We encourage you to make a
tax-deductible donation and invest in a better quality of life for
all of us. If you are a past donor, we ask that you consider
increasing your support to the best of your ability. If you or your
organization has not participated in the past, we hope you agree
that these programs make an important contribution to our community,
and we ask that you consider making a donation of any amount.
We are sure you will agree that the
Springfield Arts Council’s work, assisted by the generous support of
caring individuals and organizations, touches the lives of so many
adults and children throughout our community. We respectfully ask
that you consider supporting us in every way that you can for our
2009–2010 campaign, recognizing that together we can “…build a
better community through the arts!”
Sincerely, |
