Our annual campaign slogan this year,
Arts for ALL!, is a testament to our mission “to build a better
community through the arts.” As we begin a new season of
programming, I’m inviting you to renew your support with an
important contribution that will help us continue to provide the
Arts for ALL!
This year, your contribution will make it possible for 27 public,
private, and parochial schools throughout Clark County to enjoy and
experience 59 live performing arts programs within their own school
buildings. Our innovative Arts in the Classroom program has
been enhancing curricular learning with arts programming in the
schools since 1975. This year’s programs will provide 19,300 student
exposures to the performing arts; for many, their first and only
opportunity to have a live performing arts experience.
During the Summer Arts Festival, your generous contributions
helped to support Annie along with 21 additional nights of free
music and theater events under the stars in the beautiful Veteran’s
Park Amphitheater. Our program committee is already hard at work
planning next summer’s schedule. But it’s your contribution today
that will make it happen.
In November, Sutton Foster, Broadway’s newest and brightest star,
comes to Springfield for a concert on Saturday, November 13 as part
of our Broadway & Beyond Series in the Kuss Auditorium.
Ticket sales are not enough to support this kind of series. It’s
your contribution that will help to bring national tours like
Fiddler on the Roof, Wizard of Oz, and Spamalot to our
community this year.
Contributions from individuals, foundations, businesses, and civic
organizations, donations to our Salute Benefit Auction next
March 12 at the Champion Center, Summer Arts Festival event
sponsorships, hat collections, advertising, concession, and ticket
sales, are all important ways that support our work at the
Springfield Arts Council.
This year, we are being challenged to match a $22,000 grant from the
Ohio Arts Council with increased donations from new and existing
donors. I hope you will consider what you might be able to do to
help us meet that challenge!
During a recent on-line survey, one Summer Arts Festival donor
commented:
As a retiree living on Social
Security, I appreciate a venue that I can afford. I refuse to remain
poor in spirit just because I do not have extra money for
entertainment. And when the hat is passed, although I cannot put in
a lot, what I do contribute is a substantial part of my whole. Thank
you for bringing great entertainers.
Every contribution plays a key role
in helping to provide the Arts for ALL! I urge you to
consider our work – the Summer Arts Festival, Arts in the Classroom,
Broadway & Beyond - and support us with a contribution that is
important and meaningful to you. I assure you, it will be meaningful
to us. Thank you!
Sincerely, |
