Education and Logistics Coordinator
The Springfield Arts Council Education and Logistics Coordinator is a salaried, full-time exempt position. The Springfield Arts Council Education and Logistics Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, and provides support to a four-member administrative staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manages and evaluates Arts in the Classroom program, including initiation of plan to transition from current “Arts in the Classroom” model into the “BrightLight” series, to bring students to artists who perform schooltime events at community locations (Clark State PAC and John Legend Theater.)
- Provides outreach of performing arts programs to community populations to increase exposure to and participation in performing arts.
- Communicates with local school districts to determine their arts programming needs; helps to locate and book artists that fill these needs; coordinates AIC Artist Hospitality and Transportation as necessary.
- Develops AIC survey tools to inform SAC of school interests, needs, requirements.
- Attend AIC performances; administers and collects survey responses from teachers and administrators.
- Assist Executive Director in implementation of Youth Arts Ambassadors programming; including but not limited to; workshops, Dinner Theater, and Junior Theater Festival logistics.
- Work with Executive Director and Development and Operations Director to collect information and documentation to support Arts in Education-related grants, letters of intent, applications and reports.
- Assists in collaborations with other community organizations (Project Jericho, Springfield Museum of Art, Co-Hatch, Mother Stewarts, etc.)
- Represents the Springfield Arts Council in community groups (Wittenberg Community Service Partnerships, Greater Springfield Young Professionals, Youth Arts Coalition, etc.)
- Work with Development and Operations Director in planning and implementation of fundraising events; assists with and supports Salute preparations, fall fundraiser, and golf scramble, etc)
- Manage the grounds crew and facilities during the Summer Arts Festival.
- Provides other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
General work hours are M-F, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; hours may be adjusted in tandem with the organization’s performances and events. Salary in $40K range is negotiable based on experience and skills; following a 90-day probationary period, healthcare benefits, retirement contributions, paid vacation, paid PTO, and paid holidays are included.
